Education
The activities we carry out have three general objectives: to show the reality about life in countries in the southern hemisphere; to promote a culture of new values, based on solidarity and mutual respect between cultures; and to contribute to structural change in the world, by committed participation in civil society in the most developed countries.
To these ends, ZABALKETA has two educational strategies:
- The first is called “Zabaldu Mundura”. This strategy connects the work we do in other countries in the area of Cooperation for Development with our activities in our immediate surroundings concerning Education for Development. So far, we have three proposals that belong to this strategy, which are about: water, sustainable development and intercultural communication.
- The second strategy has the name “Eight out of ten”, and takes as its starting point the inequalities and injustices in the world, analysing how these affect the everyday life of individual people. To date, we have the educational proposal “Eight out of ten”, which bears the same name as the strategy, and which handles a total of 21 different issues related to development, such as poverty, migration and gender.
